President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will address the nation at 7 am tomorrow, Tuesday, October 9, 2012, in a national broadcast expected to be broadcast live on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), a statement from the Presidency announced today.
The announcement is coming as a surprise to many considering that the President addressed the nation on Nigeria’s Independence Day on October 01, 2012.
Though the statement did not give any hint on the content of Mr. Jonathan’s broadcast, we can report that the President will address the nation on the contentious and highly charged Bakassi issue. Nigeria has till the October 10, 2012, to appeal the judgement of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that ceded Bakassi to Cameroun.
